While I've been busing growing another neck, my buddy Thom has been getting and sharing awards! Because he's such an all-around nice guy (and maybe because he feels sorry for me just a little bit), Thom has shared three awards with me:

Thank you for honoring me with these awesome awards, my friend. I'm going to pass the torch on to some more bloggers who deserve to share them, too." This time, though, instead of making a list of people to share with, I'm going to invite my readers who also blog to grab one, two, or all three of the awards for themselves. I believe in sharing my wealth!

I don't think there's a more kind, helpful, or friendly blogger on the planet than Thom from Thom's Place. So when Thom gives me an award, it's a big deal -- a real honor. This past week, he shared four awards with me!

FYI, the Timeless Friendship Award was made with Thom in mind by Amanda from MooreBlogLife. See what I mean about him being a stand-up kinda guy?

I'd like to share these awards with the following people:

Sherlock @ Sherlock's Stuff

Gabriel @ Live from Waterloo

Itajeff @ Something to Share

and a big shout out to Michele @ The Rocky Mountain Retreat, whose photos make my day, every day!

Thom, my blogging pal from Thom's Place, thinks my blog is awesome enough to earn the Best Blog Award. I think that's pretty awesome!

Rules:
1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link.
2) Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you’ve discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

I'd like to pass the torch to the following bloggers:

With all the stuff that has recently fallen on my plate, I've been a rather neglectful blogger. It's challenging to stay on top of posting while overseeing the care of a very ill and elderly person, working hard to keep a business afloat in these trying economical times, providing a sympathetic shoulder to the teenage niece during her periods of angst, providing entertainment for the visiting niece, running a household, and managing my own health issues. And when life gets in the way of blogging, well blogging just has to wait until I have a chance to catch up. After all, the freedom to pursue life, liberty, and good coffee doesn't come without responsibilities!

The Bumbles, who host The Monday Movie Meme, recently honored me with

I am genuinely flattered that they found my blog "luv-erly" enough to deserve this award. Now it's my turn to pass it along to another "luv-erly" blog.

1. Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link.

2. Pass the award (up) to 15 other blogs that you have newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

I read quite a few blogs and often follow the links on their sidebars to discover new ones. It was while following comment links that I stumbled on the blog that I want to share this award with.

Tomas @ art by Tomas

From the colorful header to the stunning photos of his art to the heartfelt comments he makes on them, Tomas' blog is pure eye candy to me. In 1974, Tomas suffered a serious head injury that left him with a disability. This Lithuanian photography blogger takes ordinary photographs and turns them into colorful expressions of the meaning of life. I look forward to every new post he makes.

My blogging and texting pal, Thom, the Comment King, @ Thom's Place 4 Well Whatever, honored me with the Blog de Ouro award. If my translation skills haven't gone completely astray, it means Golden Blog. How cool is that? The Brain and I thank you, Thom!

The slightly amended rules of this award are:

1)Show the award in your blog.

2)Link back to the blog that tagged you.

3)Pass on the award to 8 blogs that you love. (Since this award has been around for a while feel free to pass it to as many or as few as you want.)

4)Inform the bloggers that they have been awarded.

5)Take your time there’s no pressure, but try to check out the other awarded blogs.

I'd like to share this award with the following bloggers:

  • Gabriel @ Live from Waterloo because you just can't go wrong with a bi-lingual blog filled with pictures and talk of soccer!
  • Sara @ Ordinary and Awesome because ordinary can definitely be awesome, but Sara's blog is anything but ordinary.
  • Itajeff @ Something to Share because one can never have too much pink or too many roses.
  • My Dad @ Please Turn Back the Years because, well, he's my dad! Seriously, Dad is just getting started with blogging, but what he's done so far is awesome.
  • Sherlock, the newly texting fool, @ Sherlock's Stuff because who doesn't love text messages?

My buddy, Thom from Thom's Place 4 Well Whatever, has honored me with The Best Follower Award. This is one time when I can honestly say that being a follower is a good thing!

The Rules: Put this Award in a post on your blog. Invite (up to) 10 people to take this award. Don’t forget to link back to the person that gave this award to you. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on your blog. Share the love to those who get this award.

I'm passing this award on to:

Sherlock from Sherlock's Stuff
Michele from The Rocky Mountain Retreat Photos
(Michele doesn't accept awards (check her blog to find out why), but her comments and blog are still worthy of one, and I feel it would be remiss of me not to mention her.)
Kim, from Stuff Could Always Be Worse
Shauna, from Shauna's Life in Pain and Other Fun Things
Diane, from Good Mourning, Glory!

My buddy, Thom from Thom's Place 4 Well Whatever, has honored me with The Humane Award. Thank you, Thom; you leave sweet comments, too!

The Rules: The Humane Award is in order to honor certain bloggers that I feel are kindhearted individuals. They regularly take part in my blog and always leave the sweetest comments. If it wasn’t for them, my site would just be an ordinary blog. Their blogs are also amazing and are tastefully done on a daily basis. I thank them and look forward to our growing friendships through the blog world. Recipients of this award should write a post about it, linking to the person gifted the award, along with (up to) ten of their own nominees.

Rosidah, from Music of My Life
Bill, from The Old Fart's Blog
ItaJeff, from Something to Share
Nessa, from The Chrysalis Stage
Brenda, from Brenda's Blog from Paraguay
Iman, from My Xanadu Too!
Gabriel, from Live from Waterloo
Harriet, from I Am Harriet
Mariposa, from Mariposa's Tales

Thom from Thom's Place 4 Well Whatever (don't you love the name of his blog?) has decided that my blog is loverly enough to bestow an award on it! Thank you for the honor, my friend.

Rules:

1. Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link.
2. Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you have newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

I'm going to share this award with the following bloggers:

My Dad at Please Turn Back the Years
Sherlock at Sherlock's Stuff
Michele at The Rocky Mountain Retreat
Aimee at The Fat Theory
Diane at Bibliophile by the Sea
Carrie at Cycling the North Sea with John and Carrie

Ok, so I fell slightly short of the 15; 6 is better than none, though. Besides, it's very, very hard to concentrate with a cat rolling all over your feet and whimpering at you because she wants desperately to dance the Feline Fandango!

Thom, a very friendly blogger whose reponses to comments absolutely amaze me, has honored me with a friendship award! Thank you, Thom! I'd love to be able to call you friend in Hawaiian, but since I am challenged in the language of the Islands, Arabic will have to do: Shukran, sahbi!

The following rules came with this prize: These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

Please check out these amazing bloggers with whom I would like to pass along the Friends Award:

Rosidah at Music of My Life
The Goldfish at Diary of a Goldfish
OSM at One Sick Mother
Dave at Chewing the Fat

These blogs are all part of my daily reading list, and I can't recommend them highly enough to all of my readers. And thanks again to Thom for honoring me.

I feel as though I am slowly making my way down a red carpet, walking (ok, maybe typing is a better word choice) purposefully toward the stage (er, blog) where I will deliver a speech (ahem, make a post) thanking all the little people (well, it's really just one -- Ali of the White Heart) for their help on my journey to fame because I have been honored by Shauna of Shauna's Life in Pain and Other Fun Things and Sherlock of Sherlock's Stuff with the Premio Dardos award which, rumor has it, is Italian for "prize darts"! My first blog award, and I get a double dose -- how amazing is that?! Ladies, thank you both for deeming my blog worthy of such notice.

Here’s the purpose of the award:

The Prémio Dardos is given for recognition of cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values transmitted in the form of creative and original writing. These stamps were created with the intention of promoting fraternization between bloggers, a way of showing affection and gratitude for work that adds value to the Web.

These are the rules:

  1. Accept the award by posting on your blog along with the name of the person that has granted the award and a link to his/her blog.
  2. Pass the award to another 10 blogs that are worthy of this acknowledgment, remembering to contact each of them to let them know they've been selected for this award.
And now, I'd like to share this honor with the following people, listed here in no particular order:

OSM of One Sick Mother

Lacie of Live, Love, Laugh

Carolyn of Carolyn's Chiari

Dave of Chewing the Fat

The Goldfish of Diary of a Goldfish

Anni of Hootin' Anni's

Jayne d'Arcy of A Light in the Dark

Yaman of Yaman's Amateur Ramblings

Laila of Raising Yousuf and Noor: Diary of a Palestinian Mother

Nicole of Creative Disaster

Before signing off, I'd like to thank these writers for making my day a little brighter each time I read their blogs. Whether they're telling a story, sharing personal experience, providing food for thought, providing a platform for the discussion of important issues, these bloggers epitomize the purpose behind the Premio Dardos award in my view.

And finally, thanks to Shauna and Sherlock for believing that my blog is worthy of this award; I appreciate your feedback tremendously!
